New Volume Gathers Mother Siluana Vlad’s Prayers for Spiritual Life

LOS ANGELES — A new collection of prayers by the late Mother Siluana Vlad, titled "Let Us Pray With Mother Siluana: A Collection of Prayers by Mother Siluana Vlad," was published on August 18, 2026. The 66-page softcover book is available for $11 from St. George Press.

The collection brings together prayers written or spoken by Mother Siluana at different points in her spiritual life. According to Nun Sofronia Radulescu, Abbess of St. Silouan Monastery in Iasi, the prayers reflect Mother Siluana’s personal understanding of prayer as a direct encounter with God.

“Mother Siluana loved to pray, because prayer was for her an encounter with the One whom she loved,” Nun Sofronia writes in the book’s introduction. “It is her simple, true, honest way of standing before the Lord with everything that she carried within herself.”

The prayers were gathered from several sources, including Mother Siluana’s diary from the time of her conversion, spontaneous prayers she offered during conferences, and prayers she wrote at the request of others for particular needs.

The collection is intended not simply as a record of Mother Siluana’s spiritual writings but as a resource for those seeking to deepen their own prayer life. The abbess expressed hope that the prayers would accompany readers through their own spiritual struggles and encourage them in their relationship with God.

“We hope that they may be of help, consolation, and strengthening along the Way,” Nun Sofronia writes.

Mother Siluana Vlad was a Romanian Orthodox nun known for her spiritual talks, writings and ministry. The new volume offers readers an opportunity to encounter her approach to prayer in a particularly intimate form: through the prayers she offered in moments of conversion, ministry and personal need.
