The St. Alexis Toth Brotherhood will relaunch its efforts to strengthen fellowship among Orthodox men across Eastern Pennsylvania with an October 24 gathering.

WILKES-BARRE, PA — The St. Alexis Toth Brotherhood will hold a kickoff event on October 24, at Holy Trinity Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, beginning a renewed effort to bring Orthodox Christian men together across the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania.

The gathering will take place with the blessing of Abp. Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania. Following two initial meetings in 2024, the event is intended to welcome both returning participants and newcomers interested in building friendships and strengthening their Orthodox faith.

Named for St. Alexis of Wilkes-Barre, the Brotherhood seeks to foster fellowship, service, and stronger connections among men from parishes throughout the diocese. Organizers hope the renewed initiative will develop into a lasting diocesan community.

The program will begin at 2 p.m. with fellowship and a guest speaker, followed by Great Vespers at 4 p.m. with Abp. Mark. Dinner is scheduled for 5 p.m.

All men aged 18 and older from the diocese are invited to attend. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend or another man from their parish as the Brotherhood begins this new chapter. Questions about the event may be directed to Priest Kirill Zawatski at [email protected].

Previously, the UOJ reported that Abp. Mark blessed a newly planted Orthodox mission in Pennsylvania.
