Met. Theodosiy Discharged from Hospital, Continues Recovery at Home
Cherkasy Eparchy says hierarch remains under medical supervision and has not yet resumed full pastoral duties after suspected poisoning.
CHERKASY — Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy has been discharged from the hospital and transferred to outpatient home treatment under the supervision of his attending physician, according to a statement released on December 24, 2025, by the press service of the Cherkasy Eparchy.
Church officials said the Metropolitan’s current health condition does not yet permit a return to full pastoral ministry. A photograph published by the eparchy indicates that the hierarch lost a significant amount of weight during his hospital stay, which UOJ sources believe was due to poisoning.
In a message to the faithful, Metropolitan Theodosiy expressed gratitude for the prayers and support he received during his illness:
“My dear and beloved brothers and sisters! Your prayerful support is a great treasure and strength that the Lord has revealed to me during these days. May the Lord repay each of you a hundredfold for your love and care, for your prayers and every kind of support!”
Previously, UOJ reported that a Cherkasy court extended the preventive measure against Metropolitan Theodosiy while rejecting the prosecutor's claims that the hierarch is "Ukrainophobic."
