Orthodox faithful are being urged to pray for Hannah Conover as she begins a long recovery from catastrophic injuries sustained in a car accident.

BATH, PA — Abp. Mark of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania has called on clergy and faithful across the diocese to pray for Hannah Conover following a devastating automobile accident that left the young woman with extensive and life-threatening injuries.

In a pastoral message, the Archbishop asked for prayers not only for Hannah but also for her parents, Lawrence and Melissa, her siblings, friends, and the medical professionals caring for her. He noted that Hannah has been a dedicated volunteer at diocesan teen retreats and summer camp programs, where she has positively influenced many young people through her service.

According to information shared by her family, the accident caused multiple fractures, including injuries to her pelvis, both legs, both ankles, left arm, hip, back, nose, and eye socket. She also suffered a small brain bleed, a collapsed lung, and severe internal trauma that forced abdominal organs into her chest cavity, resulting in ruptures to her diaphragm and peritoneum. Hannah is expected to require extensive medical treatment and long-term physical therapy. Her family noted that she currently lacks health insurance and faces a lengthy recovery process. A GoFundMe account has been set up in her name to help pay for medical bills, which you can donate to here

Archbishop Mark prayed that the Holy Spirit would strengthen and comfort Hannah, asking that the Lord preserve her life and grant healing according to His will through the prayers of the Theotokos and all the saints.

Previously, the UOJ reported that four Mt. Athos monks were injured in a Greece highway accident.
