Metr. Saba’s Sunday of Orthodoxy Message Highlights Seminarians’ Role
Metr. Saba urges support for seminarians while encouraging the faithful on the Sunday of Orthodoxy.
ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Metr. Saba addressed the faithful with blessings and encouragement for the Sunday of Orthodoxy, calling on them to embrace the Lenten season with renewed devotion and a spirit of repentance.
In his pastoral letter, Metr. Saba reminded the faithful of the words of St. Isaac the Syrian, urging believers to “enter eagerly into the treasure-house that is within you, and so you will see the treasure of heaven.” He emphasized that Great Lent is a time for spiritual vigilance through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, anchoring hearts in humility while embracing God’s mercy.
The Metropolitan highlighted the vital role of seminarians, who, along with their families, are preparing to serve Christ and the Church as future priests and pastors. He called on every parish to generously support these seminarians, noting that this responsibility ensures the faith and legacy of the Church continue for generations to come.
