A Lenten retreat in Jordanville concluded with solemn worship, unity, and spiritual renewal for dozens of clergy.

JORDANVILLE, NY — The Great Lenten Retreat for clergy of the northern deaneries of the Eastern American Diocese concluded on March 18, 2026, with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at Holy Trinity Monastery. The service marked the culmination of several days of prayer, reflection, and brotherly fellowship during Great Lent.

Clergy, monastics, and seminarians began the day before sunrise with the full cycle of Lenten services. Presiding over the Liturgy was Metr. Nicholas, concelebrating with Bp. Luke of Syracuse and other hierarchs, alongside more than 90 clergy. The seminary choir, led by Reader Jonathan Rose, sang throughout the service, while prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine and the Holy Land.

The services were conducted in the presence of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. Following the Liturgy, Metr. Nicholas addressed the clergy, encouraging them to return to their parishes spiritually renewed. The retreat concluded with a brotherly meal and farewells.

Previously, the UOJ reported that ROCOR Southern clergy began the Great Lenten retreat in Georgia.
