Orthodox Christianity continues to grow in Pakistan through missionary efforts and local faith communities.

FAISALABAD, PAKISTAN — More than 30 people were received into the Orthodox Christian faith this week during a joyful baptismal celebration held on March 19 at the Church of St. Nicholas. A total of 33 individuals, including both children and adults, were baptized in a service led by Fr. Anthony Skrynnikov.

Fr. Anthony, head of the Missionary Department of the Stavropol Diocese, is visiting Pakistan with the blessing of Metr. Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk and at the invitation of local priest Fr. Paul Sushil. The baptisms reflect ongoing missionary efforts and the gradual growth of Orthodox Christianity in the region.

Following the service, Fr. Anthony delivered a pastoral message and presented each newly baptized Christian with an icon and chocolate brought from Russia. The parish also received liturgical items funded personally by Metr. Kirill, further supporting the community’s development.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Patr. John X urged Christians to stand firm in the Middle East.
