Orthodox Youth and Young Adult Ministries unveiled new nationwide digital resources and initiatives aimed at strengthening parish-based community life.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Leaders of Orthodox Youth and Young Adult Ministries gathered earlier this month in Oklahoma City for a semiannual board meeting focused on expanding digital resources, strengthening parish-based outreach, and reviewing ongoing ministry initiatives across the United States. The meeting took place May 8 at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, beginning with Divine Liturgy in the parish chapel before transitioning into a full day of presentations and planning sessions.

Among the major developments announced was the launch of the “Godparent Project,” a 37-minute video resource created in collaboration with Andrew and Stephan Robinson of Patristix. The program is intended to educate clergy and parishioners on the responsibilities of godparenthood and will be distributed nationally through Orthodox Youth and Young Adult Ministries’s digital platform, What's Your Ministry?, which recently reported more than 5,000 visitors in its first month.

Officials also highlighted continued growth in the Removing the Veil ministry course, which is now entering its second cohort. Organizers project participation could reach between 75 and 100 individuals by year’s end, with participants expected to influence hundreds of additional lives through parish and community engagement.

Board members also recognized outgoing Director of Operations Sandra Glisic for five years of service, noting her transition to a new role within the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago. Leadership emphasized the organization’s broader goal of fostering “relational ministry,” describing efforts to strengthen local parish communities and deepen connections among Orthodox faithful across the country.

Previously, the UOJ reported that the Metropolis of Boston had announced the 40th annual Ministry Awards Dinner.
