GOARCH Launches $25,000 Parish Planned Giving Grants
The Archdiocese has launched $25,000 matching grants to help parishes build planned-giving programs and strengthen their financial future.
NEW YORK — The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (GOARCH) has opened applications for a new Parish Planned Giving Matching Grant program following a commitment by Abp. Elpidophoros of America during the 48th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress.
The initiative will provide 10 initial grants of $25,000, funded through the Leadership 100 Endowment Fund, to parishes establishing planned-giving programs designed to strengthen their long-term financial sustainability. Additional grant opportunities are expected to follow.
Priority in the first round will be given to parishes that participate in one of 10 regional workshops being held throughout the year. Applicants must demonstrate how they established their planned-giving program, explain its role in supporting the parish’s long-term financial health, and commit matching funds equal to the grant amount.
The program forms part of a broader Archdiocesan effort to strengthen generosity, stewardship, and financial planning. The initiative follows findings from a CARA survey in which 62% of Parish Council presidents identified financial generosity, sustainability, and stewardship resources as areas most in need of improvement.
The Archdiocese said planned giving, stewardship, and capital endeavors will increasingly be coordinated through a comprehensive approach aimed at helping parishes achieve greater fiscal sustainability. Applications, workshop registration, and planned-giving resources are available through the Archdiocese.
Previously, the UOJ reported that GOARCH would host a webinar on a new K-12 Sunday school curriculum.
