GOARCH to Host Webinar on New K–12 Sunday School Curriculum

NEW YORK — As reported by the Orthodox Observer, the Department of Religious Education of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will host an online training webinar on Aug. 16, 2026, to help clergy, religious educators, teachers, and parish volunteers become familiar with the archdiocese's newly introduced National K–12 Sunday School Curriculum.

Scheduled for 7:00–9:30 p.m. EST, the webinar is designed to equip participants with the tools needed to implement the curriculum in parish Sunday School programs. It is aimed particularly at those who were unable to attend curriculum workshops during the 48th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress in Cleveland, although the session is open to anyone interested in learning more about the new program.

The training will be led by the Department of Religious Education together with Dr. Drew Baker, project leader for the National K–12 Sunday School Curriculum. Presenters will explain the curriculum's educational framework, demonstrate how its teaching resources are organized, and offer practical recommendations for planning lessons and creating a consistent approach to Orthodox Christian education.

A live question-and-answer session will follow the presentations, giving participants an opportunity to seek clarification and discuss how the curriculum can be adapted to their local parish needs.

The webinar will be recorded for later viewing, and those unable to attend the live session are encouraged to register in order to receive access to the recording.
