Holy Dormition Monastery Hosts Abp. Nathaniel for Theophany Feast
Abp. Nathaniel celebrated the Divine Liturgy and performed the Great Blessing of the Waters at Holy Dormition Orthodox Monastery in Michigan on the Feast of Theophany.
RIVES JUNCTION, MI — On the Feast of the Theophany of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, celebrated on January 6, His Eminence Abp. Nathaniel visited the Holy Dormition Orthodox Monastery in Rives Junction, Michigan, where he joined the monastic community for the festal observance.
Abp. Nathaniel presided at the Holy and Divine Liturgy, which was celebrated in the monastery katholikon under the leadership of Abbess Gabriela Ursache. Assisting His Eminence in the service were the monastery priest, the Very Rev. Fr. John Konkle, Rev. Protodeacon Laike Misikir, the monastery deacon, and Rev. Hierodeacon Benedict Oancea.
The feast, which commemorates the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan River and the manifestation of the Holy Trinity, was marked with particular solemnity. Following the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Abp. Nathaniel officiated the Great Blessing of the Waters, a central rite of the Theophany celebration.
The visit highlighted the enduring spiritual life of the monastery and its role as a center of prayer and worship for the faithful.
