Abp. John of Albania's visit to Boston reinforced spiritual unity and commemorated the legacy of Imzot Theofan Noli for the Albanian Orthodox community.
BOSTON, MA — His Beatitude Abp. John of Albania presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St. George on March 8, 2026, marking a significant event for the Albanian Orthodox diaspora in the United States. The visit drew believers from Boston and surrounding areas, celebrating both spiritual life and the historical legacy of the Church.
Abp. John was welcomed by Bp. Nikodhim, and together they led the Liturgy, symbolizing the unity of the Albanian Orthodox Church across homeland and diaspora. The occasion coincided with the 118th anniversary of the ordination of Imzot Theofan Noli, whose contributions to Albanian church life and cultural preservation were commemorated during the service.
In his address, Abp. John emphasized the importance of cultivating a daily spiritual life according to Orthodox teachings and encouraged believers to follow Noli’s example of devotion and service. After the service, a fraternal lunch hosted by Bp. Nikodhim provided an opportunity for the community to share memories, reflections, and strengthen ties between the Church in Albania and its diaspora.
