Archpriest Maximus Saikaly Serves First Divine Liturgy at Monastery Chapel

ENNISMORE, ONTARIO — The Holy Transfiguration Antiochian Orthodox Monastery recently welcomed Archpriest Maximus Saikaly of St. Anthony the Great Antiochian Orthodox Church in Halifax, who traveled to the monastery and celebrated the first Divine Liturgy ever served in its chapel.

The historic service marked an important milestone for the monastery, which said its chapel had remained quiet until now. According to the monastery, the celebration of the Holy Eucharist transformed the chapel as the Gospel was proclaimed, incense filled the space, and the faithful gathered for worship.

The monastery expressed gratitude to Fr. Maximus for making the journey, offering his prayers, and providing his fatherly love and support. The community also asked the faithful to continue praying for the monastery as it carries forward the work entrusted to it.

The visit and Divine Liturgy were described by the monastery as the fulfillment of a hope and prayer. The community gave thanks to God for the blessing and asked that He grant Fr. Maximus many years.
