The Diocese of the West will host its second annual Young Adult Summit in February 2027, inviting Orthodox Christians ages 18–29 to explore faith, attention, and wellbeing in the age of artificial intelligence.

POWAY, CA — The Diocese of the West of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) will hold its second annual Young Adult Summit from February 25–27, 2027, bringing together Orthodox young adults for discussions on human wellbeing and attention in the age of artificial intelligence.

The gathering will take place with the blessing and participation of Bp. Vasily, with St. John of Damascus Church hosting the event for a second consecutive year. This year’s theme is “Wisdom! Let us attend!” and the program will explore how Christians can navigate the challenges of modern technology while maintaining their spiritual and personal wellbeing.

The summit will begin with a welcome reception on Thursday evening, February 25. Official programming will start at 9 a.m. on Friday and continue through Saturday evening, concluding with a celebratory dinner. Participants are also encouraged to attend Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at St. John of Damascus Church on Sunday morning.

Young adults between the ages of 18 and 29 from across the Diocese of the West are invited to apply. Registration costs $50, a reduced fee made possible by a generous grant supporting the diocese’s Ancient Paths for the Age of Artificial Intelligence Initiative.

The diocese described the summit as part of its renewed commitment to providing regular opportunities for young people to build friendships, find mentorship, and experience a sense of belonging within the Christian community.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Bp. Vasily represented Metr. Tikhon at Georgia’s 1,700th-anniversary celebrations.
