St. John the Compassionate Mission to Dedicate New Fr. Frank Miloro Building

TORONTO — The new Fr. Frank Miloro Building at St. John the Compassionate Mission in Toronto, Ontario, is scheduled to be officially opened and dedicated on September 19, marking a new chapter in the mission’s service to the local community.

Located at 740 Queen Street East, the building houses several of the Mission’s ministries, including the EcoMarket, St. Macrina Counselling Services, and a Refugee Emergency Shelter. The opening will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by refreshments and remarks.

The Very Rev. Protopresbyter Frank Miloro, Diocesan Chancellor Emeritus, will officiate at the ceremony. The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, and organizers are inviting clergy, faithful, and members of the wider community to attend.

The building has been named in honor of Fr. Miloro in recognition of his lengthy service to the diocese. He served as Diocesan Chancellor for 34 years before retiring from that position in 2025. He is also approaching the conclusion of his 41-year tenure as dean of the seminary, with his retirement scheduled for October 31.

The dedication recognizes Fr. Miloro’s decades of service while highlighting the Mission’s continuing work among vulnerable members of the community. The new facility brings together ministries addressing economic needs, counseling, and emergency assistance for refugees under one roof.
