Washington Archdiocesan Choir Debuts Liturgical Recording
The Archdiocesan Choir of Washington, D.C. has released Orthodox America, a new album of English-language hymns by American composers.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Archdiocesan Choir of Washington, D.C. has released its new album, Orthodox America, a professionally recorded collection of liturgical hymns sung entirely in English and composed exclusively by American composers. The recording draws selections from Vespers, Matins, and the Divine Liturgy, offering listeners a rich expression of Orthodox worship in an American context.
Under the direction of Juliana Woodill, the choir has, in just four years, developed a remarkable degree of unity and tonal clarity. The album captures that harmony with exceptional precision, inviting attentive and prayerful listening rather than casual background play. Listeners are encouraged to experience the recording through quality speakers or headphones to approximate the fullness of its liturgical setting.
