Fundraiser Launched to Help Leukemia Patient Move to Safer Home
A verified fundraiser is seeking to help leukemia patient Dymphna Corcoran escape unsafe housing and find a place of healing.
WEST BROOKFIELD, MA — A fundraising campaign has been launched to help Dymphna Corcoran, who is battling Leukemia, and her family relocate from unsafe living conditions to a stable home where she can rest and recover.
According to the family and Fr. Maximos McIntyre, their current apartment is plagued by crime, chronic insect infestations, rodents, mold, and structural damage, contributing to constant stress. “Since moving in here, our apartment building has seen neighbors attempting suicide, drug dealers and addicts coming and going all night long . . . screaming and fights,” the campaign explains, describing an environment detrimental to Dymphna’s health.
Family members say her illness, combined with financial hardship, has left her unable to work and often unable to leave home. “We must leave as soon as possible and we cannot do this without asking for help,” the appeal states, emphasizing the urgent need for safer housing.
