Metr. Tikhon Urges Support for Clergy Retreats
Metr. Tikhon is urging the faithful to support clergy and their families, and thereby strengthen parish life, by backing upcoming pastoral retreats.
SPRINGFIELD, VA — The Orthodox Church in America’s Office of Pastoral Life has released a message from Metr. Tikhon encouraging support for upcoming clergy and clergy wives retreats, emphasizing their importance to the life of the Church.
In his message, Metr. Tikhon highlights stewardship as the faithful care of all entrusted by God, with particular attention to parish clergy and their families. He reflects on the burdens borne by priests and the often unseen sacrifices of clergy wives, stressing that supporting them is a responsibility that strengthens entire parish communities.
This year’s Clergy Wives Retreat is scheduled for July 28–31 at Antiochian Village, while the Pastoral Retreat will take place September 29–October 2 at University of St. Mary of the Lake. Registration opens April 20 and May 4, respectively, with parishes encouraged to assist clergy participation.
Previously, the UOJ reported that the OCA diocese launched free small-group clergy retreats.
