Seven faithful were received into the Orthodox Church in Mechanicsburg, and the parish hosted a unifying Pan-Orthodox Lenten Vespers.

MECHANICSBURG, PA — On Sunday, March 29, Holy Apostles Church welcomed seven new members into the Orthodox Church through the Holy Mysteries of Baptism and Chrismation, coinciding with the Fifth Sunday of Great Lent, the Sunday of St. Mary of Egypt.

The morning Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Archpriest Timothy Hojnicki, with Mitred Archpriest Nicholas Molodyko-Harris concelebrating. The choir was led by Mrs. Barbara Linnehan. The newly illumined received guidance from sponsors and the parish community as they were welcomed into the Church.

That evening, the parish hosted a Pan-Orthodox Lenten Vespers, drawing clergy and faithful from across the region. Archpriest Hojnicki, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Ilija Balach, Archpriest Nicholas Solak, and others served, with a homily by Fr. Solak reflecting on St. Mary of Egypt. The evening concluded with a communal Lenten meal, fostering fellowship and unity among participants.

Previously, the UOJ reported that a wave of conversions continued with a mass baptism in Houston.
