Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania Launches New Mobile App

BATH, PA — The Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania launched a new mobile app on September 1, coinciding with the beginning of the Church New Year, giving clergy and faithful a new way to stay connected with diocesan life.

The app was introduced with the blessing of Abp. Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania following collaboration between the Diocesan Media Office and Archpriest John Parsells and his team at Orthodox Web Solutions. It provides access to diocesan news, archpastoral visits, daily Scripture readings, lives of the saints, the diocesan calendar, photo galleries, official announcements, and a parish directory.

Rdr. Nicholas Hojnicki, director of communications, said the app was intended to make diocesan communications more accessible on mobile devices. He added that development would continue, with additional updates, refinements, and features planned.

The app is free and does not require users to visit an app store. Instead, users can access the diocesan website from a phone or tablet and add the app to their home screen. Notifications can be enabled for alerts about diocesan news, announcements, parish events, retreats, summer camp registration, and other updates.

The Diocesan Media Office expressed gratitude to Fr. John and Orthodox Web Solutions for their work on the project and encouraged clergy and faithful to install the app.
