AHEPA Provides $250,000 in Scholarships for Holy Cross Seminarians

BROOKLINE, MA — The Order of AHEPA has provided $250,000 in scholarships for seminarians attending Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in celebration of the Feast of the Elevation of the Holy Cross.

The scholarships were made possible through the AHEPA Educational Foundation, including funds raised under the leadership of Supreme President E. Chris Kaitson, as well as the John George Tsitsos Scholarship Fund. The endowment was established to help students of Hellenic descent pursue their educational goals.

Supreme Secretary Themistocles Frangos represented AHEPA at the presentation on behalf of Kaitson. Supreme Governor Greg Simones and AHEPA Board of Trustees Secretary Alex Geourntas also attended the celebration, which highlighted the organization’s support for theological education.

Abp. Elpidophoros of America addressed the gathering and spoke about AHEPA’s contribution to educating the next generation of Hellenes. He also recognized the continued support provided through the organization’s educational initiatives.

The AHEPA Educational Foundation serves as the organization’s primary philanthropic vehicle for education, providing scholarships intended to reduce the financial burden faced by students. The program supports educational opportunities while strengthening connections between AHEPA and Hellenic communities.

“We look forward to continuing the incredible work of this program which actively builds bridges between AHEPA and the clergy who serve as pillars in our Hellenic communities,” Kaitson said. He described the partnership with Holy Cross as supporting “our faith, our culture and our future” through the educational mission represented by the “E” ("educational") in AHEPA.
