Orthodox youth spent the summer learning about North America's saints while strengthening their faith and friendships at St. Vladimir's Church Camp.

FARMDALE, OH — Orthodox youth from seven states gathered this summer at St. Vladimir Church Camp for three weeks of worship, learning, and recreation centered on the theme, “Lights of the North: The Saints Who Shined.”

Campers ages 8 to 18 took part in the annual program, which explored the lives of the Saints of North America and their role in bringing the Orthodox faith to the continent. Alongside educational sessions, participants attended worship services, enjoyed outdoor games and activities, and built friendships with fellow Orthodox Christians from across the country.

A special highlight of the camp was the visit of Abp. Daniel of Chicago and the Diocese of the Midwest on the Feast of St. Vladimir. The Archbishop celebrated the Divine Liturgy with the campers and encouraged them to live as faithful witnesses to Christ, urging them to let their lives shine as examples of the Orthodox faith.

For many years, St. Vladimir's Church Camp has served as a ministry dedicated to the spiritual formation of Orthodox youth. Organizers say the annual gathering seeks to help young people deepen their faith while fostering Christian fellowship and lasting relationships in an Orthodox environment.

Additional information about St. Vladimir Church Camp is available through the camp's website.
