St. Tikhon’s Monastery Names Juliana Woodill Music Program Director
St. Tikhon’s Monastery names a seasoned conductor to lead and grow its Orthodox music program.
SOUTH CANAAN, PA — In a release sent to UOJ-America, St. Tikhon’s Monastery has announced the appointment of Juliana Woodill as the new Director of its Music Program, effective July 1, 2026. She succeeds Fr. Caleb Lewis, who, along with his family, will return to the southern United States to pursue parish ministry and be closer to relatives after two years of service.
Woodill brings 17 years of experience as a conductor and music educator. She currently leads the Archdiocesan Choir of Washington, D.C., and regularly conducts workshops on church music and directing across the country. In addition, she serves as a conducting instructor at the Summer Music Institute hosted by St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary.
In her new role, Woodill will oversee the monastery’s on-site residency program, coordinate music workshops, and expand educational opportunities for Orthodox musicians nationwide. Her appointment reflects a continued commitment to strengthening liturgical music and fostering excellence in church singing within the Orthodox Church in America (OCA).
Previously, the UOJ reported that St. Tikhon’s Monastery offered an Eight Tones crash course.
