Aorist Press Releases Second Printing of Parish Book of Needs
A newly updated Parish Book of Needs equips Orthodox clergy with rare and practical liturgical resources for modern pastoral challenges.
NEWTOWN, PA — Aorist Press has announced the release of the second printing of its Parish Book of Needs, a comprehensive liturgical resource designed to assist Orthodox Christian clergy in meeting a wide range of pastoral situations.
The volume compiles newly redacted offices, prayers, and blessings rendered in Revised Liturgical English, offering a practical handbook for parish life. While commonly used services such as Baptism and Matrimony are readily accessible to clergy, the book fills a gap by providing less frequently used rites—such as prayers for difficult labor, services following suicide, blessings for adopted children, and even an order for the blessing of airplanes and spacecraft.
In addition to its expanded and carefully edited content, the April 2026 printing introduces improved physical features. The edition is bound in a durable cloth-over-boards format with Smyth-sewn binding and includes two ribbon bookmarks, enhancing both longevity and usability in liturgical settings.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Uncut Mountain Press published a major patristic study by St. Hilarion.
