A newly released children's book brings the extraordinary life of St. Elizabeth the New Martyr to a new generation of Orthodox readers.

CHESTERTON, IN — Ancient Faith Kids has released a new children's book introducing young readers to the life of St. Elizabeth the New Martyr, one of the most beloved saints of the modern era.

Titled "Elizabeth: Princess, Abbess, Saint," the book is written by Mary Ford and illustrated by acclaimed children's artist Ruth Sanderson. The publication traces St. Elizabeth's journey from her early years as a princess through her marriage, monastic vocation, and eventual witness as a martyr. Designed for children, the volume presents both the joyful and difficult moments of her life in an accessible format intended to inspire readers through her example of faith and service.

According to the publisher, the release fills a gap in Orthodox children's literature by bringing the story of St. Elizabeth to a younger audience. While numerous biographies of the saint have been published for adults, this new work combines narrative storytelling with detailed illustrations to introduce her life and legacy to families and parish communities.

Ancient Faith Kids also highlighted Sanderson's extensive historical research, noting that the illustrations were carefully crafted to reflect the period and settings in which St. Elizabeth lived. The artwork captures key moments from the saint's life and complements the book's retelling of her remarkable spiritual journey.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Ignatios said that children today wanted to know the truth.
