Reports Claim UOC Priest Taken by Military Recruitment Officials in Volyn Region
Sources allege that Fr. Oleksandr Honcharuk of the Dormition Zymne Monastery was detained and transported to Lutsk; details surrounding the incident remain unclear.
LUTSK — Reports have emerged alleging that representatives of Ukraine's Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC) detained Fr. Oleksandr Honcharuk, a priest of the Dormition Zymne Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
According to sources cited by Kozak TV, the clergyman was reportedly taken on July 11 and is being transported to the city of Lutsk in northwestern Ukraine.
At present, no official information has been released regarding the circumstances of the alleged detention, and further details concerning Fr. Oleksandr's whereabouts and legal status remain unknown.
The Dormition Zymne Monastery, located in the Volyn region, is one of the historic monasteries of the UOC.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Protodeacon Bogdan Rudnichok was taken to a military facility after allegedly being detained near his home in the city of Volodymyr on July 7.
