Clergy and lay delegates of ROCOR will review diocesan activities from 2023 to 2025 and discuss the diocese’s current situation and future direction.
SAN FRANCISCO — The Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia's Western American Diocese will hold its diocesan assembly on Nov. 5 at the Old Holy Virgin Cathedral in San Francisco.
The assembly will bring together clergy and lay delegates to review the diocese’s history and activities from 2023 to 2025, assess its current life, and discuss its future direction. The gathering will take place with the blessing of Abp. Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America.
The assembly will follow the diocese’s biennial clergy retreat, scheduled for Nov. 4 at the same location. The diocesan events will conclude Nov. 6 with the patronal feast of the New Holy Virgin Cathedral, dedicated to the Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, “Joy of All Who Sorrow.”
The two cathedrals will host the events marking the assembly and its conclusion. The Old Holy Virgin Cathedral will serve as the venue for the assembly and clergy retreat, while the New Holy Virgin Cathedral will host the patronal feast.
Previously the UOJ reported on ROCOR's Eastern American Diocese Assembly concluding a liturgy at Novo-Diveevo.
