The St. Andrew of Crete Music Ministry of the Diocese of the Midwest will hold workshops in January and February open to clergy, choir directors, and singers.

BURR RIDGE, IL — The Diocese of the Midwest of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) will hold two church music workshops in early 2027 for clergy, choir directors, and singers.

The St. Andrew of Crete Music Ministry announced that the workshops will take place Jan. 16 and Feb. 27 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Burr Ridge, Illinois.

The sessions are intended for church musicians serving Orthodox parishes, including clergy and those involved in directing and singing in parish choirs. The sessions will provide an opportunity for participants from parishes across the Chicago area to gather and focus on their musical development.

Additional information can be found on the diocese's announcement flyer or by contacting Michelle Jannakos at [email protected].

Previously the UOJ reported on a conference in South Carolina exploring Orthodox Christian music.
