Parents in Korсhak protest against transfer of school to Catholics
According to the publication, the fate of the school should be decided on September 18 – the court will consider the claim of the parents to cancel the decision of the session of the Korchak village council on the closure of the school. The premises are supposedly planned to be leased to a private Catholic school, and prepayment has already been received.
"The village council insists that there are only 23 children left, which is enough to close the school," the publication cites the opinion of one of the villagers. "But where did they get this information from?" We estimated that 26-27 children would come, though at the end of last year there were 35 people. Why did it get fewer? Parents are under hard pressure to take their children out of school. One receive threatens that they won’t be able to privatize the land, others are told that they will not be given work."
The UOJ is following the developments.
