The Holy Orthodox Order of St. George invites the faithful on a transformative eleven-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Egypt this summer.

HARTFORD, CT — The Holy Orthodox Order of St. George the Great Martyr is inviting the faithful to join a summer pilgrimage from June 21 to July 1, 2026, tracing the footsteps of Christ, the prophets, and the saints through the sacred sites of the Holy Land and Egypt. The journey promises spiritual renewal, fellowship, and a deepening of faith.

Pilgrims will visit Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, Mt. Tabor, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and other sacred sites in Israel, followed by Alexandria, Cairo, Giza, and Coptic Cairo in Egypt. Highlights include the Church of the Nativity, the Mount of Beatitudes, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Pyramids of Giza, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Each day is guided by Scripture readings, prayers, and reflections linking the faithful with centuries of Christian witness.

The eleven-day, ten-night pilgrimage includes all-inclusive accommodations, entrance fees, and all meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Pilgrims will also receive special gifts as mementos of the journey. The itinerary is designed to offer both historical insight and spiritual enrichment, highlighting key biblical sites and Orthodox Christian landmarks.

Registration for the pilgrimage is now open, with a booking deadline of March 19, 2026. Interested participants can find further details online or contact the Order directly via phone or email to secure their place.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Jerusalem churches launched a joint restoration of the Nativity grotto.
