Pittsburgh Metropolis Opens Applications for Youth Ministry Grants
The inaugural grant program will award up to $10,000 to support new youth and young-adult initiatives across the Metropolis in memory of Metr. Maximos of Pittsburg.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh is accepting applications for its inaugural Metropolitan Maximos Endowment grant, offering up to $10,000 for youth and young-adult ministry programs.
The grant is intended to support new initiatives, events, and services that expand existing ministry efforts or introduce new programs for young people throughout the Metropolis. Parishes, clergy, youth workers, and lay leaders are eligible to apply.
Established in 2020, the Metropolitan Maximos Endowment honors Metr. Maximos, who led the Metropolis of Pittsburgh for more than 32 years. During his tenure, he placed a strong emphasis on youth ministry, supporting programs such as summer camps, GOYA activities, and Orthodox Christian Fellowship retreats. The endowment was created to continue his work by providing financial support for initiatives that encourage the participation and development of young Orthodox Christians.
The official grant and application details can be found here. Applications must be submitted by email to [email protected] by March 5, 2027, which marks the birthday of Metr. Maximos.
Previously, the UOJ reported that two OCA priests received the Lilly Clergy Renewal Grants.
