Serbian Orthodox communities across the Americas are mobilizing to provide urgently needed relief to struggling faithful in Venezuela.

BUENOS AIRES — The Serbian Orthodox Diocese of New Gracanica and Midwestern America has issued an appeal for financial assistance to support Serbian and Orthodox Christian communities in Venezuela, where many families continue to face severe economic hardship and challenges in meeting basic daily needs.

In a statement published on the diocesan website, church leaders announced that the Diocese of Buenos Aires, South and Central America is coordinating a fundraising effort to provide emergency aid to Serbian faithful in Venezuela. According to the appeal, donations will help supply food, essential household items, and other forms of urgent assistance to members of the community experiencing difficult living conditions.

To facilitate the rapid and secure distribution of aid, organizers are utilizing an existing GoFundMe platform. Church officials said that all funds raised through the campaign will be directed toward supporting Serbian families and Orthodox believers in Venezuela.

The appeal emphasized that contributions of any size can make a meaningful difference for those affected by the country's ongoing economic difficulties. Organizers also encouraged those unable to donate financially to share information about the fundraiser with family members, friends, and their local communities.

Quoting the Gospel of Matthew, the appeal concluded by reminding the faithful: "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy."

Previously, the UOJ reported that Romanian Orthodox missions in Latin America received 50 new faithful.
