On Theophany the UOC Primate blesses Dnieper waters (VIDEO, PHOTO)
The Primate, served by the hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, conducted a rite of blessing the water and sank the cross into the river. Then the Metropolitan blessed all the attendees and aspersed everybody.
A special cross-shaped ice hole was designed as a font together with stairs to step into the water.
Kiev-based faithful had lavation in the ice-hole.
