Metr. Saba’s Texas visits highlighted pastoral care, parish growth, and Orthodox unity amid challenging winter conditions.

HOUSTON, TX — Metr. Saba of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese continued a series of archpastoral visits across Texas in January, though severe winter storms forced the cancellation of planned visits to Cedar Park and Austin on January 24–25.

On January 24, Metr. Saba attended the annual ladies’ tea at St. George Church in Houston, where Psalm 50:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God,” served as the theme. He offered brief pastoral reflections and spent time meeting parishioners, fostering a warm and joyful atmosphere despite harsh weather conditions.

Earlier, on January 23, he visited the St. George Pasadena Outreach near Houston, encouraging a growing group of faithful exploring the establishment of a permanent mission. On January 21, Metr. Saba led Great Vespers and family night at St. George Church in Houston, emphasizing Holy Tradition, the role of icons, and Orthodox teaching, and later met personally with parishioners and catechumens.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Saba continued his archpastoral tour of Texas parishes.
