Metr. Saba Celebrates Feast of Three Holy Hierarchs in Houston
Metr. Saba leads Hierarchical Liturgy and inspires faithful at St. Joseph the Betrothed Church.
HOUSTON, TX — Friday, Jan. 30, His Eminence Metr. Saba returned to St. Joseph the Betrothed Church in Houston to celebrate Festal Orthros and the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy for the feast of the Three Holy Hierarchs: Sts. Basil the Great, John Chrysostom, and Gregory the Theologian. Clergy from across the deanery—ten priests and six deacons—joined His Eminence in the celebration.
Faithful parishioners, many taking the day off to attend, were inspired by Metr. Saba’s homily, in which he urged Christians to study the Holy Hierarchs in context and apply their teachings with discernment. He emphasized that the Hierarchs defended Orthodox truth during tumultuous times and that their example can guide the Church today.
Following the Liturgy, Metr. Saba mingled with parishioners, signing copies of his book Metropolitan Saba: A Life Testimony, and later met with deanery clergy to encourage unity and collaboration among parishes. Archpriest Joseph Huneycutt expressed gratitude for His Eminence’s visit and blessings.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Saba recently released A Life Testimony.
