UOC Hierarchs Visit Patr. Daniel in Bulgaria
UOC hierarchs met Patr. Daniel in Bulgaria, seeking prayers for Ukraine and marking the 25th anniversary of Metr. Gabriel’s leadership.
SOFIA, BULGARIA — A delegation of hierarchs from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) visited the Bulgarian Orthodox Church this week, meeting with His Holiness Patr. Daniel to discuss prayers for peace in Ukraine and the wellbeing of the UOC.
With the blessing of His Beatitude Metr. Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, the delegation included Metr. Longin of Bancheny, Abp. Siluan of Hertsayiv, and Bp. Cleopa of Novoselytskyi. The visit fostered fraternal dialogue and strengthened ties between the two Orthodox Churches. During the meeting with Patr. Daniel, the hierarchs requested his prayers for peace amid ongoing challenges in Ukraine and for the spiritual guidance of the Ukrainian faithful.
The UOC delegation also participated in the 25th anniversary celebrations of Metr. Gabriel of Lovchansky, honoring his quarter-century of leadership in the Bulgarian Church. The visit highlighted ongoing ecclesiastical cooperation and mutual support between the Orthodox Churches of Ukraine and Bulgaria.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Longin called on Ukrainians to defend Metr. Arseniy.
