Holy Trinity Monastery Welcomes Youth for 2026 Summer Program

JORDANVILLE — Holy Trinity Monastery's 2026 Summer Youth Program welcomed Orthodox boys from across the Church for an immersive experience of monastic life, combining daily worship, spiritual instruction, work, and recreation in an effort to strengthen their faith and introduce them to the traditions of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR).

This year's program was divided into two sessions based on age. Boys ages 14 and 15 attended a weeklong session from June 27 through July 3, while participants ages 16 to 18 took part in a nearly two-week program from July 5 through July 18. Organizers noted that enrollment has continued to grow, reflecting increasing interest in the longstanding initiative.

Participants set aside cell phones, computers, and other electronic devices during their stay, instead following the rhythm of monastery life. Their days began with 6 a.m. Divine Liturgies, where they served in the altar and sang or read on the kliros during feast days and weekend services. The schedule also included work assignments around the monastery, catechism classes, evening prayers, and spiritual lectures led by Bp. Luke and other clergy and guest speakers. Free time featured outdoor activities such as swimming, boating, canoeing, hiking, soccer, and other recreation.

Organizers described the program as a formative experience that has influenced generations of Orthodox men, noting that many Holy Trinity Seminary graduates — including deacons, priests, and bishops — first encountered monastic life as participants in the Jordanville summer program. They encouraged families to consider enrolling eligible boys in the 2027 session, emphasizing the program's role in cultivating spiritual discipline, maturity, and a deeper commitment to the Orthodox faith.
