Sts. Cyril and Methodius Mission Parish in Middlefield, CT, celebrated acquiring its first permanent property, marking a significant step in its growth and ministry.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT — On January 16, 2026, members of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Mission Parish celebrated a historic milestone as their community officially acquired its first permanent home in Middlefield, Connecticut. With the blessing of His Holiness Patr. Porfirije of Serbia and His Grace Bp. Irinej of Washington–New York and Eastern America, the parish signed the purchase agreement for a historically significant property listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The newly acquired complex, which includes a church, social center, classrooms, offices, and daycare facilities, offers space for worship, fellowship, education, and service for generations to come. Parish leaders, clergy, and faithful praised this development as a sign of growth and blessing for the mission community.

Sunday services during this past Nativity season and the upcoming first St. Sava celebration will anchor the parish in its spiritual and cultural heritage as it continues to flourish.

Previously, the UOJ reported that a Serbian parish celebrated the burning of their mortgage.
