HCHC Presidential Search Advances to First-Round Interviews

BROOKLINE, MA — The search for the next president of Hellenic College Holy Cross has advanced to the first round of interviews after attracting what the school described as a strong and diverse national pool of applicants.

The seven-member Presidential Search Committee said it has completed a comprehensive review of applications and identified a group of candidates to move forward. Before interviews began, the committee also consulted with Abp. Elpidophoros of America, giving him an opportunity to provide feedback and suggest additional candidates for consideration.

Co-chair George C. Demos said the confidential search process will continue through the summer and early fall, with candidates undergoing additional interviews and evaluation. The committee expects to present its recommendation to the HCHC Board of Trustees at its October meeting.

Although the priority review period has ended, the committee said exceptional candidates may still be considered as the search progresses. The search committee was formed by the Board of Trustees to find the institution’s next leader as HCHC approaches its 90th year of educating and forming Orthodox Christian clergy and lay leaders in the United States.

Previously, the UOJ reported that HCHC awarded nearly 60 degrees at its 84th commencement.
