Metropolis of San Francisco Announces Youth Worker Workshop
A November workshop in Oakland will bring together Orthodox youth workers for practical training, shared experience, and fellowship.
SAN FRANCISCO — Youth workers from across the GOARCH Metropolis of San Francisco are being invited to a day of practical formation aimed at strengthening parish ministries and connecting those who serve Orthodox young people.
The Youth & Young Adult Ministries of the Metropolis announced that the workshop will be held Nov. 14, 2026, at Ascension Cathedral in Oakland. Registration is expected to open in September.
The event is open to a wide range of parish workers, including clergy, HOPE, JOY, and GOYA advisors, Sunday school teachers, basketball coaches, dance directors, volunteers, and others involved in youth ministry. Participants will have opportunities to develop practical skills, including leading discussions more effectively, while also meeting others engaged in similar work.
Organizers described the gathering as a practical day of formation intended to support those working with young people in Orthodox parishes and encouraged interested youth workers to save the date.
